Dakota Boston, MD, joins Laura Kimball-Ravari, MD, and Melissa Albritton, MD, at Endocrine & Thyroid Specialists in their Shreveport clinic at WK Pierremont Health Center. He specializes in the treatment of diabetes, obesity, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, pituitary disorders, adrenal gland issues, low testosterone in men and estrogen replacement in post-menopausal women. Dr. Boston is American Board certified in internal medicine and obesity medicine.
As an endocrinologist, Dr. Boston enjoys continuity of care and the long-term relationships he builds with patients who often have chronic conditions. Working with adults 18 years and older is a team effort as Dr. Boston thoughtfully guides patients toward the best treatment options available. Patients identify healthcare goals they want to achieve and follow Dr. Boston’s advice to reach those targets. For patients with diabetes, this includes working to adopt healthier eating habits and a regular exercise routine. Dr. Boston makes use of rapidly evolving technologies to help patients optimize their health.
A graduate of Byrd High School and LSUS, Dr. Boston went on to earn his medical degree at LSU Health Sciences Center – Shreveport School of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine residency and endocrinology fellowship at the same location.
Dr. Boston is married to Theresa, with whom he enjoys long walks, traveling and deep Bible studies. He also enjoys good books and movies, hikes, and kayaking with friends. Dr. Boston enjoys life in Shreveport near his parents and siblings. His younger brother, Colton, has been his best friend since childhood.
